In the field of education, action research is one of the ways to conduct research. Its aim is to explore topics related to teaching, curriculum development, and student behavior in the classroom, and to improve processes.
Faculty research is a requirement for tenure and promotion. At present, I’m meeting with a university professor to talk about ways to enhance action research in the institution. Faculty members of other universities and colleges who are interested to know more action research may contact me.
Finding a topic for a thesis or a dissertation is not easy. A good suggestion is to start early. Begin to think about the potential topic from the day you start your graduate course. Use the papers you are required to write during your early graduate years as jumping off points. By doing this, you’ll have saved yourself a lot of time.
It’s advisable to talk to other people like your peers and your advisor. You may also look for a mentor and toss around ideas with him/her.

Or, it may point out the problem(s) arising from a particular precontrived research area, the problem(s) the candidate wishes to solve in a doctorate program.
A dissertation is theory-building. It may bolster up an old theory whose relevance and responsiveness has proved to be still effective, or it may improve on an existing theory whose improvement is based on its effectiveness to answer current needs and is able to look for a solution to its weakness(s), or it may completely demolish an old theory to give way to a new one. Or, in some cases, theory-building may take the form of an action program.
